The Chelchele farm, managed by the METAD group, is situated about 400 km south of Addis Ababa.
It was created in 2013 on 30 hectares of land in the very heart of the Yirgacheffe, known on the international scene for its high-quality coffees.
In addition to promoting more environmentally responsible agricultural practices, METAD has set up a processing station in Gedeb, at an altitude of 2,000m. This offers advantages for bean preparation: shorter delay to process the cherries and cooler drying temperatures. The result is a better-quality coffee with a more aromatic cup.
This year, the natural processing gives the coffee a high sweetness profile, medium acidity with notes of wild berries and rose water.
